I am so excited to share this wedding on my blog! It truly means the world to me to be chosen by Anna and Carlo to document this day for them. I met Anna several years ago when she worked in the wedding business. She is one of the sweetest, kindest souls I know, and Carlo is her perfect match. This day was absolutely beautiful. The ceremony took place at San Miguel Mission, with the reception at Santa Margarita Ranch. Avila Beach Golf Resort Styled Wedding Shoot

In order to put together a fake wedding, you still need real wedding vendors. When I participated in the filming of the Wedding Ninja a few weeks ago at Avila Beach Golf Resort, part of my role for the day was to document all these amazingly talented vendors’ work for them. If you haven’t seen the funny video, The Wedding Ninja, be sure to check it out on Patrick Ang’s website and you can see my behind the scenes photos here. Obviously we were all in it for a good time. We had a blast with the whole project, but I’d also like to share these photos to show off what all these fun people can do. I absolutely loved the geometric and natural elements mixed together. House of Flowers did an amazing job styling the tables and designing all the floral elements. Mantinae Design studio completed the look with her gorgeous set of wedding stationery. And the Cakestress – well not only is that cake gorgeous but if you were lucky enough to taste it you also know it was delicious. So many awesome vendors loaned their talents to this shoot! I also have to give major shout out to Jeanette, who not only modeled as the beautiful bride with her sweet hubby-groom, but also got her whole family involved to help us fill the rolls in the video.

The Wedding Ninja – Behind the Scenes

A few weeks ago I headed over to the Central Coast to take part in a massive vendor collaboration. Fellow photographer/videographer and good friend of mine, Patrick Ang, shared an idea with me a while ago. He wanted to create a funny infomercial style spoof video that would playfully poke fun at wedding guests who can’t seem to put down their phones/cameras/ipads/etc. Around the same time I was working on a styled shoot collaboration with another fellow photographer friend, Jeanette Ennis. Eventually we all figured out that we should plan one big fake wedding together, and boom! – the filming of The Wedding Ninja was in motion.

Everyone who participated was also a wedding vendor. I think one of my favorite parts of the whole project was seeing them channel their guest characters and portray the most obnoxious bunch of people I’ve ever seen at a wedding. It was a blast, and we all had a great time doing it! You can find me in the video playing the professional photographer struggling to get her shot between two guest-photographers. Even though this is totally all in fun, things like this do happen occasionally. I think the biggest lesson to take away, is simply to be present. Photographers are their to take photos of your faces, not your devices. So, it’s important to stop and experience these special moments in “3D.”

As part of this shoot, I also took several photos of the lovely styling that went into our fake wedding day. I will share those next, but first I thought I would share some of the fun we had behind the scenes. You can see a full list of those involved here (and at the end of the video).

Morro Bay Anniversary Session for Jeanine and Jesse

I absolutely loved photographing this session. If you follow me on Instagram, you may have noticed I use the hashtag #mustlovedogs quite often. Well, this certainly took it to a whole other level. Jeanine and Jesse were celebrating their anniversary in Morro Bay and wanted to have some photos taken of themselves with their three beautiful dogs. Each dog had a sweet rescue story, and an adorable dog personality that kept us laughing the entire session. Being a huge lover of dogs and photographing beautiful people in love, I had a blast! See Canyon Fruit Ranch Wedding for Erin and Drew

Erin and Drew had the most beautiful See Canyon Fruit Ranch Wedding. I am so thankful to them for bringing me there to capture their wedding day. This venue is truly a hidden gem, and I just love shooting on the central coast in the summer. This wedding was made even more beautiful with the help of Elegant Details, who provided the stunning florals and table decor. Martins Meats & Catering was brought over from Bakersfield to feed everyone, and the Bill from AMS Entertainment kept everything on point as DJ. This wedding was truly special, and I am super excited to share some of my favorite photographs with you:
