Maurina & Rico // Downtown Los Angeles Engagement Photos

Maurina and Rico are getting married! For their engagement session, I spent the day with them in Downtown Los Angeles. The day began with lunch and macarons at Bottega Louie. We followed up this gorgeous location with Union Station, which is always a favorite of mine. Stopped for a drink at Perch, just about one of the coolest restaurants I’ve ever been to in LA. Then, ended the night at LACMA. It was such a wonderful day, with stunning locations, and two beautiful people in love. Throughout the day, I got to chat with Maurina and Rico a lot about their wedding and their relationship. They have such a sweet love story and there is no doubt their wedding will be a joyous occasion for everyone involved. I am so honored to be their photographer. Katie & Adam // Kern County Fair // Bakersfield Engagement Photography

From the moment I met Katie and Adam I was smitten with these cuties. They have one of the absolute most awesome engagement stories I have ever heard! I won’t go in to too much detail, but it may have involved a surprise elephant (Katie’s favorite animal). After they told me I thought, “damn, this guy is good!” For their engagement session, we decided to go to the Kern County Fair. We unknowingly picked one of the busiest nights, but their love totally stood out in a crowd. I eliminated the photo bombs for this blog post, but boy to I have some funny ones! Natalie & Alden // Bakersfield Engagement Photography

Natalie and Alden are getting married! These two love birds graduated from Cal State together in June, and so we thought this would be the perfect place to kick off some Bakersfield engagement photography. They even put on their gowns for a few shots. After that we ventured downtown, and ended the session at Dewars, a true local favorite! I had such a good time getting to know them a little more. Clearly you can see they are full of smiles and have a lot of fun together. I am really looking forward to being their wedding photographer this coming spring. Here are a few of my favorites:

Kristina & Chris // Paso Robles Engagement Session

Kristina and Chris are getting married. I was so honored they asked me to photograph their engagement session in the central coast wine country. They even brought along their adorable pup! Le Vigne Winery and Croad Winery allowed us to use their beautiful scenery. The vineyards were the perfect setting for these two lovely people. Melissa & Moses // Tehachapi Engagement Photos

Melissa and Moses have such a beautiful love story. They are also two of the most interesting people I have ever met. I have had such a good time getting to know them, and hearing stories about their work, travels and life. Moses is from Zimbabwe, and Melissa from California. They fell in love while working in South Africa, and had to spend a lot of time apart before Moses came to Bakersfield. Now that they are together, it is very clear that distance has only brought them closer.

Melissa thought the scenic Tehachapi landscape would be the perfect place for their engagement session. I couldn’t agree more! A beautiful landscape, for a beautiful couple. We utilized the golden hills and oak trees. We also went to the Old Town Train Station, and my personal favorite, the wind turbines. I grew up in the central valley, and I had never been so close to them before! When we reached the turbines just before sunset, I was blown away by the beauty. I am so excited to be the wedding photographer for these amazing people this fall. Here are some of my favorites from their Tehachapi engagement photos:

Nicole & James // Bakersfield Engagement Photography

Nicole and James are getting married! I just think these two lovebirds are the sweetest, so it was a perfect fit to begin capturing their Bakersfield engagement photography in Dewars. They decided to style up their engagement photography with a retro vibe, which I think fit their naturally sweet chemistry as a couple just perfectly. After the ice cream, we headed over to Oleander to take the tandem bike out for a spin. There is even a little nod to Fallout in the mix. I had such a great time capturing these photographs for them, and I am so excited for their wedding this fall! Here are some of my favorites from the shoot:

Mistie & Jason : Bakersfield Engagement Session

After a vintage glam shoot at the Fox Theater, Mistie and Jason also wanted to incorporate a rather important four legged fury person in their next session. We met up again along the Kern river for the second half of their Bakersfield engagement session. I must say, the love between these two made it equally as romantic. Mistie and Jason : Fox Theater Engagement Session

This is part one of the beautiful love story of Mistie and Jason, featuring photos from their Fox Theater engagement session. I always try to encourage couples to make their engagement sessions personal and special. For Mistie and Jason, this meant shooting in two very distinct locations. I am equally excited to share part 2, with their adorable dog out by the Kern River. Yet, I thought each location stood alone so well, they should be featured individually.

The Fox Theater was a very special place for them. Not only do they love watching movies together, but they loved the history and character of the Fox. As a Bakersfield wedding photographer, I always feel so lucky when I get to go into these historic places. I also feel incredibly lucky to get to work with people like these two. May thanks to The Fox Theater crew for being so accommodating and helping me make their ideal engagement session happen. Here is part one of their engagement session at the Fox.
