Yosemite Wedding Videographer for Laura & Ben

Laura and Ben’s wedding was so amazing. Getting to watch their beautiful Yosemite wedding over again in motion just sends me right back to the day. I absolutely love getting to document such unique, personal weddings. We were truly honored to be included in this small but special group of people.

The song you will hear in the wedding video is from Bobby Jo Valentine. He performed during their ceremony and lunch reception. We fell in love with his music that day, and thought it would be perfect for their wedding film. Laura was escorted down the aisle this song, called “Be Mine.” Big thanks to him for letting us use it for their video. If you love it too, it’s available on iTunes!

Did you love the song? Well, that happens to be original music by the amazingly talented Jacob Calderon. We thought it was perfect for this couples sweet country vibe. Music is something that is near and dear to our hearts, especially when it comes to promoting independent, local and up-and-coming talent. So, when we were assessing our goals for 2012, we decided it’s time to utilize more of our creative potential, and promote the work of independent musicians. We are very excited to see how this goal will unfold. Whether that means composing an original score for our couples or finding a perfect match for from an independent musician, we believe it will add a personal touch to our boutique wedding collections.

Moving…

You may have noticed lately that I have been making an effort to embrace what my camera can do and incorporate video clips into my slideshows. Well, at Kelsey and Nick’s wedding Brad joined me and covered the ceremony exclusively in video. I am a photographer first, and my goal every time is to freeze those beautiful moments. Yet I have to admit, there are some things that are captured best with motion and sound. The laughter from their fun and cool bridal party. Kelsey wiping away a tear during the father daughter dance… and the part that brings a tear to my eye every time I watch this, is Nick’s beaming smile as he faces his bride at the altar. The Video!

Brad completed the video of our shoot Sunday and I must say he did an amazing job! It took me a second to get over the initial shock of seeing and hearing myself on camera. Yes, I really am that big of a nerd. No, I don’t think my shoes look good with that outfit (It was really muddy). Yes, I often lay down, climb on stuff, touch people, and invade there personal space during shoots. However, it’s all in the name of art!

Originally I wanted to make a promo video and try to make myself look as cool as possible. Then in all my planning for the shoot, planning for a video didn’t really happen. Instead, Brad just filmed the shoot from his point of view. So this is me, and this is what it looks like while I work. Now, to rave about Brad some more…when I saw how he so beautifully pieced together the music, the photos and captured such a feel for what I do… oh… *tear.* I love it! If you like it it too, leave Brad some comment love. I hope I will get to feature much more work from him in the future!
